Part of the Perspectives Family of resources

Operation WorldView is based in part on the popular 15-week college-level missions course, “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement,” developed by the Institute for International Studies and the U.S. Center for World Mission. More than 50,000 people have taken this life-changing course in the United States.

Operation WorldView is recognized as being part of the Perspectives Family of resources. It is not the Perspectives course, but includes much of the vision and values of the Perspectives course sponsored by the Institute for International Studies.

When Werner Mischke took the class in Nashville, Tennessee, and two years later coordinated the class in his home church, he developed a deep desire to “redesign” it in a graphically-rich multimedia format — and to abbreviate it for a wider audience. “The average person in the pew needs to know this!,” he thought.

The Operation WorldView Live Event requires only 5 to 6 hours. The Operation WorldView Video Series requires only 8 classes (minimum--one hour). Still, some of the high-impact, key truths of Perspectives are covered in great clarity and with the help of compelling multimedia.

Like Perspectives, Operation WorldView has four components, Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic. Much of the material is the based solidly on the Perspectives course. For example, the Biblical component of Operation WorldView is based on the second lesson of Perspectives, “The Story of His Glory,” by Steven Hawthorne. And the Historical component is based on the sixth lesson, “The Kingdom Strikes Back: Ten Epochs of Redemptive History," by Ralph Winter.
